Cover Letter

This document was created using my current resume and a recent cover letter. Using these two documents along with the grading rubric “Review Resume and Cover Letter Rubric” and outlined requirements for this assignment, I have created a document that not only showcases my current work history and education, but also displays my current cover letter and resume writing abilities.

The following document is segmented into three parts, each meeting a requirement on the attached “Review Resume and Cover Letter Rubric”. Part one is a description of the job I actually applied to. Part two is a slightly revised version of my most current resume that I used to apply to this job posting. Finally, part three is the revision of the cover letter I actually submitted for this position. The job listing has been removed and all relevant information relating to the real person(s) involved with this position have been removed.

This document also doesn’t have a uniform spacing or font size. This is because I wanted to maintain clear page sectioning without awkward spacing to have this document look as clean and pretty as possible.

Subject: Application for Systems Analyst and Programmer Position

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Systems Analyst and Programmer position with the Legislative Council Service, as advertised on the New Mexico Legislature website. With a solid foundation in IT systems management, software development, and network security, I am eager to contribute my expertise in systems analysis, troubleshooting, and
application development to support the technological infrastructure of the New Mexico Legislature.

I hold a Google IT Support Professional Certification, CompTIA A+ Certification, and am currently pursuing multiple associate degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration. In my current role as Technology EA & Web Manager at New Futures School, I provide comprehensive IT support, manage hardware and software systems, and maintain network functionality. I also design and manage the school’s website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, improving accessibility and usability for all users while ensuring reliable access to critical information. Through this role, I regularly troubleshoot technical issues, support staff and students, and help maintain consistent system performance in a fast-paced environment.

Beyond my formal roles, I am continuously expanding my expertise through AI-driven projects and web application development. Notably, I designed and developed the website for Alianza Family Services, a local New Mexican company, demonstrating my ability to translate business needs into efficient digital solutions. My technical proficiency includes database management, software deployment, system security, and workflow automation, all of which align with the responsibilities outlined in this role. This position particularly excites me because of its dynamic problem-solving environment and the critical role of IT in legislative operations. My ability to analyze and implement system improvements, troubleshoot network and software issues, and develop secure and efficient applications makes me a strong fit. Additionally, my experience working in high-pressure environments requiring rapid response IT support prepares me for the demanding schedules and responsibilities of the legislative session.

I welcome the opportunity to further discuss how my technical background, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to IT innovation can benefit your team. Please find my resume attached for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration—I look forward to the possibility of contributing to my forever home New Mexico through the New Mexico Legislative Council Service.

Best regards,
