This project involved creating a user manual titled Listening to the Music of the Grateful Dead: User’s Guide, made to help introduce people to the music, culture, and overall experience surrounding the Grateful Dead. Instead of treating it like a super dry technical document, I wanted to make something that actually felt fun to read while still following the structure and organization of a real user manual. The guide includes listening advice, troubleshooting and FAQ sections, explanations of Deadhead culture, concert etiquette, and recommendations for live shows and related bands. While making this project, I focused heavily on audience awareness, usability, document organization, and keeping the writing clear and approachable without losing personality. Overall, this assignment helped me better understand how technical communication can still be creative, engaging, and enjoyable while effectively guiding the reader through information.
